What you’ll achieve

As an Architect (technical staff) in APEX Engineering you are responsible for working with product management team to understand the requirements and then translating these into team backlog. You will be responsible for identifying and building strategic partnerships across Dell Technologies and its partners. You will work with Product Managers to take ideas form concept to actionable features and stories. You will manage and hold yourself accountable for the delivery of multiple engineering teams. You will be brilliant and bring out the genius in others. You will be a key contributor to creating an exciting and rewarding work experience for yourself and our organization.


You will:

  • Provide strategic direction to the planning, design and architecture of high quality, complex systems and software/storage

  • Review and conduct analysis of test strategies for software products and systems

  • Review and analyze design, functional, technical and user documentation

  • Write technical papers (e.g., white papers) that clearly articulate industry and company trends in technology and solutions, at either a summary or detailed level

  • Lead the definition, collection and analysis of quality metrics appropriate to products and processes, especially with respect to issue contributing to product defects and business process problems

  • Provide accurate resource, schedule, and cost sizing for cross-functional software development and deployment projects of significant complexity

  • Work with other architects and principal engineers on designs and design reviews.

  • Represent our organization and its contributions to all levels of the company.

  • Mentor technical leads and engineers.

Essential Requirements

  • Proficient in one or more of these programming languages - Java, Golang, Python

  • Excellent in the concept, use of and selection of revision control software, understanding of software engineering processes and methodologies

  • Able to apply Software Lifecycle and Quality Assurance methodologies in a cost-effective manner, to bring high quality products to market on time

  • Ability to analyze options for critical design elements and features, and determines optimum selection

  • Excellent knowledge of server, storage, networking and client technologies

  • 15+ years of experience in designing and architecting software products

  • Strong Infrastructure as a Service experience

  • Strong Docker, Kubernetes experience

  • Cloud native development

  • Background in distributed systems design, experience with Kafka

  • Excellent communication (oral and written) and collaboration skills.

  • Ability to collaborate and work in a distributed team across multiple time zones

  • Team player who is eager to help others succeed

  • Technical curiosity - Willingness to explore and learn new technologies, patterns, and practices.

  • Self-motivated/Self-starter and able to learn and operate autonomously.

  • BS in STEM or equivalent

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience using public cloud technology and solutions including AWS, Azure, etc.

  • Advanced networking in Kubernetes

  • Customer interaction and collaboration.

  • Software engineering background.
